After a promising freshman season in 1930, he was a three-year varsity starter and an All-PAL guard as captain of Sequoia’s 1933 championship team. At Santa Clara, he played on two Sugar Bowl teams and was termed “one of my best-ever blocking guards” by Coach Clipper Smith. A Naval Intelligence veteran during World War II, he became a successful attorney and served as volunteer coach for Sequoia Frosh-Soph football.
