Ted Sweeting becomes a double inductee on the basis of a storied career in Sequoia aquatics. Coach Bob Whitmore regards Sweeting and Marty Hull as the most versatile performers in his amazing swim stable in the fifties and sixties. While the backstroke was his principal event, Sweeting was good for first-place points in freestyle and breast stroke competition, as well—anywhere Whitmore decided to enter him. “With Ted and Marty, I could just about count on six first places going into any dual meet,” Whitmore reflected. “They made me a pretty good coach.”
