An assistant with the great "Streak" grid teams of 1959 through 1962, he ascended to the head coaching job in 1964 and posted an undefeated season in 1967, winning the league title and number one ranking in Northern California. A standout track and football performer at University of Pacific, his Sequoia track teams won district and league championships, and he also coached individual league tennis champions. He has been cited for years of volunteer efforts in coaching and mentoring throughout the community.
